In music to "ritard" is to gradually slow the tempo. It works in life, too: do something wickedly wonderful that makes everything stop til you get yourself together. Laugh yourself silly and drag others along with you!
Wow! I really Laughed Out Loud for that one. It's such a cat thing to do. My last cat would come and walk on me on Saturday mornings if I wasn't out of bed by 9am. With my 1/2 asleep brain, I would think that she needed food or something. Then, I'd get up, see a full food bowl, and I wouldn't see her for the rest of the day. I'm convinced that she thought I was late for work and trying to help me out. :)
I remember my cousins and I playing with the door stops at my Gramma's house. When we could get a big Doooooiiiiing and make the grown-ups flail we were thrilled!
