In music to "ritard" is to gradually slow the tempo. It works in life, too: do something wickedly wonderful that makes everything stop til you get yourself together. Laugh yourself silly and drag others along with you!
I got a new shower gel that smells like cotton candy. It was all I could do not to lick myself in the shower. LOL ("Enchanted" from Bath and Bodyworks btw)
I once had a student that was such an olfactory learner I had to stop wearing any scent/lotion that smelled foody or he'd sniff me repeatedly. Gave me the heebie-jeebies!
