In music to "ritard" is to gradually slow the tempo. It works in life, too: do something wickedly wonderful that makes everything stop til you get yourself together. Laugh yourself silly and drag others along with you!

The Muppets: "Man or Muppet" Music Video
Oscar nominated, written by a dude from Flight of the Chonchords, sung by Jason Segal and Walter the Muppet, and a video appearance by Big Bang Theory's Sheldon. Yup, that's Gleetarded!
I don't know what the criteria for "Best Song" at the Oscars are these days. However, it used to be that the song had to be important to the plot of the film. I suppose that's from when there used to be lots of musicals. If it's still important, I don't know how you could do better than this song. It's vital. (Of course, I say that not knowing what any of the other nominees are. lol)
I agree; I thought that's was the criteria was, too. But for the last few years it doesn't seem like that's what they've been using, which kinda made this nomination seem out of place. Wicked Awesome, but oddly chosen. Still, I hope it wins. And I can't wait to see it performed at the Oscars!
Oh, and the hula-hoop video was mind blowing. Like spinning tea cups or eggs scrambler mind blowing. I saw it earlier today but couldn't comment, and now I can't find it.
