In music to "ritard" is to gradually slow the tempo. It works in life, too: do something wickedly wonderful that makes everything stop til you get yourself together. Laugh yourself silly and drag others along with you!

We're Drunk As A Skunk
Do I think animals should be given booze? Nope. Do I laugh like a hyena when they're drunk as skunks from fermented fruit? Every. Damn. Time.
