In music to "ritard" is to gradually slow the tempo. It works in life, too: do something wickedly wonderful that makes everything stop til you get yourself together. Laugh yourself silly and drag others along with you!

Cat gets caught barking by a human and resumes meowing
They do say that "meow" is a sound that cats only use with humans. It was some Nature episode or something where they studies several family groups living in a deserted warehouse or other special cat episode. But, they said that they never made that noise among themselves. It is interesting. At first I thought that perhaps that the cat was looking down at a dog that was barking at it, but you can see the mouth move. I have heard my cat make a noise like that when coughing up a fur ball, but this cat wasn't doing that either. Interesting, very interesting.
