In music to "ritard" is to gradually slow the tempo. It works in life, too: do something wickedly wonderful that makes everything stop til you get yourself together. Laugh yourself silly and drag others along with you!

I agree. Much more pleasant than most "Keep Off" signs, and sometimes making someone grin is the best way to get your point across!
